evga b-stock deals... cheap mobos...

ive usually had really good luck with refurb motherboards, im not exactly sure what "b-stock" means, but im in for one of the $29 boards. it has all the features i want/need

since its only $29 shipped, now i gotta decide if i want an extra one or two.

Crap, just realised I had 50 Evga bucks from 2007 when they fubared an order of mine on sale 7900GTX's

Just got a 750ftw for 9.99

Sweet!

i received the board today (730i), i paired it with an e3200. its running great and im surprised at all the advanced overclocking features (i figured with a cheap board it would only have the basic overclocking features, if any at all.)

also it did come with the i/o plate. i wasn't expecting any accessories, but the i/o plate is the only thing i cared remotely about. so was pleasantly surprised by that.

i also like that it has 4 dimm slots, and the fact that it has HDMI + dvi + analog monitor ports.

$29 shipped is a hot deal for me 🙂

Down to $39. Is this a decent motherboard for a replacement to my HTPC? My original board died, replaced it with an Asus P5B-E I had around that was never designed for the e8400 CPU I have in it. I have boot issues from time to time and was thinking of replacing anyway with something cheap and want full ATX. Won't use the built in video, but the 5670 I have.

I kinda hate the side facing sata ports on the 730i because they're hard to access inside a case. Why couldn't they have made them up facing? Other than that, the board seems to be running fine. Decent overclocking options in the bios.

the good prices seem to be back.. i just bought 2x 730i boards at $29 shipped

also a bunch of video cards added, not to mention an x58 sli board for $79 shipped (newegg has the same board for about $200)

Oh my ffffffuuuuu

I have a i7 920 D0 with no DDR3, and I also have a E6300 with DDR2.

Should I wing it out with the $29.99 730i and crappy parts until next year for AMD bulldozer/intel ?? or go with the $79.99 SLI LE and shell out a nice PSU, HSF and graphics card?

x58 sli looks cool for 99 but a 30$ mobo? checked newegg reviews and 30% people say they have memory problems and bios cant be updated, i wonder if major returns = b stock items for cheap.

i think you are half right.. i think alot of "factory refurbs" are 100% working boards that were returned by users who mistakenly think they are defective.

not sure where you got your info, but bios can easily be updated. and latest bios update fixes the memory issue when using all 4 dimms.

I have the X58 SLI (132-BL-E758-RX) and it really seems to be an excellent board for the price...

Love my X58 SLI 🙂

Only gripe I have with it is VREG temps while overclocking. Arguably not a concern for some and depends on what you're comfortable with.
