It's a fair price, might be worth it if most of your favorite games play nice with SLI, otherwise I'd rather get a 4870 or GTX 260 for the same price (if not less) and not mess with dual GPUs so as to avoid the drawbacks.

Wow, now that's price to performance. When I see these kinds of price drops, I'm reminded of how dumb it is to keep buying the latest and greatest. Look at what staying 6-9 months behind on product cycles can do for your wallet..

That is an excellent price for a card that still performs at or near the top for single slot solutions.

This is really good price. According to Anand's benches it beats up everything else on the market, so go for it -provided that you have a good PSU and cooling systems...

Edit: SLI setup with those would be a total monster!

It looks like some super nerds have managed to put 4 of them in a single PC

Apparently this FASTRA box can do onfly advanced processing of DICOM medial images

Neat although power hungry

The same people that say 4870X2 > 280 have to admit that 9800GX2 > 4870.

They even had a $30 rebate that expired on 7/31 for that card, with the price dorp to $284 actually occuring on the 31st. If you can wait a week or two, it's likely they will offer that rebate again.
