get the cheaper one as they don't really have performance advantage between the 2. 9800gtx however has physX.

I thought the 9800gtx + was = to a 4850? And the 9800gtx+ was 55nm vs 65nm 9800gtx?

The 4850 is faster, supports DX10.1, but costs $10 more. The 9800GTX is slower, supports Physx, and is $10 cheaper. (I'm assuming you are talking about a 9800GTX, not GTX+ as stated in the title)

That review is a little old and uses a 9800gtx not the + version The 4850 has gotten better since then.
I believe the 4850 is now = to a 9800gtx+/gts250

Have there been improvements to the 9800/GTS250 drivers since then as well? Regardless, both should be great choices.

just be sure not to get the gen 1 4850 with the single slot cooler... they're hot and noisy...

I don't think there is a performance difference between the two big enough to argue over which one is faster. Typically an equally performing AMD card is cheaper, but I personally like nvidia because their driver support is more consistent and physx has been great in the titles that have used it.

They are hot because they aren't noisy!

If you get them to run cooler by increasing the fan speed they are noisy but cool.
