i guess i got a good one... crank the fan to 70%, 700/1000, and blasting away @ crysis bmk to warm it up a bit... hottest it's got is 68c...

it's a keeper... a pair of these in sli for $150 would be a scream...

SLI on an IP35-E? Surely you jest.

yeah i would need to use my MSI nvidia 650 SLi board.

I bought a pair of the XFX Alpha Dog Editions a few months ago for $70 each after MIR. Running in SLi and the machine is doing great. I run BF2142 at 1600x1200 (sorry, haven't palyed Crysis and don;t have a big monitor).

Assuming the cards work and the system can hack it, it's a great deal.

Just an FYI, it is down to $70AR shipped now after promo code: HARDOCPVC72810
(taken from Hardforum).

This might be better than the initial deal, since I believe it used to be $65AR + ~$8 shipping.

It cannot be combined with the OCZ RAM "combo deal" (which is basically the card plus 2x1GB of OCZ RAM for $80 or $85 after all rebates and discounts depending on if you go with the gold or platinum set).

eVGA and OCZ rebates both expire on 7/31/06 (Thursday)

Can anyone who has received the card comment on it?

I've bought two of these EVGA cards now ($80AR-FS & $65AR+$8) and they're great. I use them both in F@H boxes, OCed to 650/900 with fans upped slightly to keep the temps down. Cranking 4300 ppd on each.

These cards are nearly silent (ran one for a while with side off the case on the desk next to me, at seated head level and couldn't hear it), overclock very well and even perform solidly in various games.

Also, I have already received my first $30 MIR back about 5 weeks after mailing it. The second should be here within the next 2-3 weeks based on that timing.

Overall very happy with these cards. Get one!

Definitely happy with the card. I got in when they were going for ~$73 shipped AR. Works like a charm with my 720P HDTV...

Alright, I just bit on the $80AR combo. Just remember that the OCZ rebate must be postmarked within 12 days of purchase, including weekends.

Update: Now $65 AR shipped with promo code: EVGA73015

Well, I just canceled my order, and will re-order the card (when I get a cancellation confirmation) for $65AR shipped after the new $15 off code: EVGA73015.

I'm not going to risk missing out on the other rebate, plus I don't think the extra 2GB of OCZ Gold RAM will be good or very useful for a Vostro 200 running Windows XP 32-bit.

You guys just don't have any idea how much you make me spend on these life-quality-enhancing products!!! Damn you! I just love you! I guess my relationship with ATers is a love/hate relationship. Sigh....

Thanks, I just grabbed one at $65 AR. What a flippin great deal! I have an X1900 GT, another product that I purchased from here. I guess the 8800GS will be the back up. Wait, the X1900GT will be..., I mean..., who cares?! I will have both and one will back up the other.

The price just went up 10.00 and the shipping is 8.25. Too bad, I was ready to bite for 65 AR.

It's back @ $110 - $30MIR + FS = $80.

Best value out there right now? Certainly one of the quietest cards available.

So does anyone else think there'll be a $15 coupon code (again) in one of the next few newsletters??? Methinks the egg has a warehouse full of these.

u beat me to it!

Dang, for me this would be a really good deal, since I wouldn't need a new PSU for this card (it uses less power than my X850 Pro)

Ya, saw this in my inbox this morning. $64 AR is really tempting for something like an HTPC or mild gaming rig......

Bought another one. Arrrgh!

That makes three of these cards. Oh well, the folding farm is shaping up nicely now.

I already bought one. Had I waited, I could have saved a dollar. Hmmm. With all jokes aside, how is this card compared to the 3870? There is another thread for an Asus (I think) 3870 for $97 or something like that.

Pretty close...wins some, loses some. When the 8800GS is clocked at it's potential (675 Core / 2000 Mem) it's more of a decisive winner. I've had 3 8800GS's (2xEVGA & 1 XFX) and all cards were incredible values at the time of purchase, this being no exception.

I'm pretty sure it's the 3850. I've been pondering on the two but from the benchmarks (Yeah, I know benchmarks suck) is that the GS overall is better than the 3850. A lot of good cards on sale lately which will be good for me since I'm doing a new build soon. For the performance I need - the GS pretty much foots the bill. Perhaps I'll buy two, both with different CC so I can get the rebates. SLI maybe? ;)
