My XTX was about $40 more than an XT (less than a 10% increase over the XT, as opposed to a 33% increase on the 7900GT). ass...

Do some research before you post, the $100 price difference between the XT and XTX is a thing of the past.

First Did I say anything but about current Prices. I didn't, but honestly with your statement was pretty out right Why Spend $400 on a $300 card. In that theory spending anything over a certain base ammount is wrong, but yet you paid $40 more for a cost. Keep in mind as well that the difference in GPU speed has increased 150Mhz over the base $300 card. If I do the calulations in my head it equals 33% increase in processing speed for a 33% increase in price. I seems to make sense to me. Where as you paid a little less then 10% for 4% increase in Processing speed. Still seems to me that someone getting this signature card is getting a better deal. Infact with the choice of the game you get and some of the other quirks that most other video card buyers don't get, it seems like that gap in value is increased in the case of this EVGA.

It is a bett HSF, Its copper, the fan looks different, and the HS covers the memory.The memory not being cooled seem to be the issue on the early 7900GTs.

Better maybe, but it looks like a 70mm fan at best, and still a small heatsink. I'd prefer one with a vf900 or an AC NV 5 instead. But of course that's just me.

Current prices are all that are relevant, I really don't care how much the cards were at launch time if I'm buying one now do I. We didn't even get into how much these Signature cards are probably going to go for after the gougers begin selling them.

Again, why do I care how you spend your money...? I don't... I never made a value judgement on wether you should buy the card or not... The guy was just tallying up all the bundled crap in attempt to justify the cost, so I mentioned that he I don't care how much he spends, no need to justify it to me.

You decided to attack me by calling me a hypocrite, based on some erroneus generalizations you made about the price of XTX's versus XT's (that's why I called you an ass).

here is an XTX that is actually cheaper (at the same store) than it's corresponding XT:

XTX for $475.69

XT for $489.69

It all depends on the price. Unless this is available for $350-360, the X1900XT for $400~ refurbished/$420~ new is a far better deal.

Sorry man I dont Read web speak completely emtionalist, your words in that oder, come off as demeaning. Where I felt specially with the particular card you owned it was pot calling the kettle black kind of thing.

Its hard to make a big deal about a free game that comes with a card. Alot of times it is a game you already own or one you have no intention of playing (like Tomb Raider for me) so the Ability to choose that game actually makes the free game worth $50.

I am not trying to get into a price war in this And I refuse to. I was only compairing the 300 base price with the increased price so I could comapair it to your only $40 more XT (which by clock value the XTX would need to be no more then $20 more). There are better deals out there and I will admit that, some of the X1900XT (and for that matter with the XTX almost down to XT prices now, the XTX (although I wont buy OEM but thats me)) prices are getting pretty tasty, the 7900GTXs as well seem to be slowly lowering in price. But everyone saying that this card is too expensive I feel are not looking at all the angles here.

Umm... has anyone noticed http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150148 ? This is clocked at 550/1630 rather than 600/1600. It also costs about $40 less, which you could spend on an aftermarket cooler then voltmod it! It also has VIVO.

The cooler is the one found in the KO isnt it. 600/1600 is pretty damn close to GTX performance. Wonder if they raised the voltage on the core.

But its one damn fast single slot card if you ask me.

If you compare pictures of a regular 7900GT to this Signature 7900GT, you can notice there are a different # of resistors or transistors or whatever they are on the back, at the place where you do the pen voltmod. I believe this points to factory voltmodding.
