I believe the KO version is at 500mhz (as you stated) and it has a larger heatsink/fan?

I just called microcenter and they said it is the N624-FX. . N624 is the KO version (as opposed to the N620). Assuming that the FX (HDCP) is better than the AR i would say this is a better deal than Microcenter assuming you can "gamble" on a $80 rebate.

I hope you realize that you can get a directx10 capable 8800gts 320mb at newegg for around $280 AR. If I were you, I wouldn't buy anything now just as a holdover until more directx10 cards come out. That's just me though.

A. Yeah, if you don't want to use your computer.
B. Some people have tried the waiting game, 1 year later (after waiting on one deal, then another, than another) they have no PC, and get their "jollys" from watching others game

Don't buy this if you need HDCP Support!
Only the -N623- and -N625- models include HDCP crypto-ROM chip.

The suffix doesn't indicate whether it supports HDCP, it only indicates the packaging/bundle/warranty. The -AR models are the full retail pacakging, I think the -FX models used to have a shorter warranty, but they revised their warranty policy near the end of last year.

Current eVga Lifetime Warranty Policy

* All EVGA Products purchased ON or AFTER November 1, 2006 MUST be registered within 30 days from ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE to receive full lifetime warranty. (All products not registered within 30 days will ONLY receive a 1 year limited warranty.)

i spoke with the csr to confirm the part number.

she entered the part number from the rebate form and she said the model listed in the op pulled up.
so i'm assuming what we'll be getting is the KO version

rebate should be valid pending the part number matches...

I will apply for the step up program as well after 90 days so we'll see how that goes.

That should make it perform better than a stock 7900GT. How loud is it and what are the temps like? Are you using an aftermarket cooler?

wow... this was enlightening... i just registered my 8800gts and sent them a note asking if i am now only getting a 1 yr warranty, since i bought the card the day after xmas...

there was nothing in the packaging stating that i needed to register the card to get the lifetime warranty, just that there was alifetime warranty...

if this is true, i'm going to ship the thing back to buy.com and call amex... this is bull$hit...

Mine is actually now runnig fine at 615 and 1.64 with just stock cooling. When my room gets hot I will probably have to back it down a little

FYI, I just received the card from Fry's/Outpost and it is the KO ver that is stated on the rebate form. It doesn't say anything on the box about clock speeds and the box won't be opened until my build.

I dont think it really matters. Because, their price is sooo damn high, I am sure you will find it (anycard) cheaper elsewhere on sale than buying it thru evga with step up.
