EVGA 7800gtx or 7900gt???

GT - less power, more oc'ing ability, slithly quicker without making any changes. Easy choice.

For ~$50 more you can get a much faster card. 1.45v vmod should get you ~650-700ish on the core.

hmmm... just checked the "Summer 2006 GeForce 7 Graphics Gear" article @tomshardware. I had no idea that that the 7900gt was that much faster... for $40 more. $240 shipped @ newegg for the evga 7900gt co.

You'll be pleased.

I wish that the 7800GTX's sexy HSF would have been used with the 7900GT's. I still think today that that was one of the best looking cards that has been made.

it was also one of the best upgrades ive seen...geez, that card was mindblowing to me when i first read benchmarks of it.

but still, 7900GT is the way to go.
