I got a question concerning my 7800gt svideo/composie port. I am thinking of buying a either a 360 or a wii for my room but I don't have a tv. Hpwever, i got this nice pc andma 19 in lcd mon. Is it possible for me to connect video game system to the s-video port for soem HD gaming?

Another question, do you know where can I buy the composite dongo? I bought this 7800gt off fs/ft forum and it didn;t include the dongo, so if the theory of playing game in the s-video port is golden, where can I buy the extra dongo? The reason I want to use the s-video port is that I am currently using a wintv 150 tv-tuner card for ps2, it work, but the picture quality is a bit lacking and there is lag as well.

Don't know about getting the dongle, but the AFAIK all the 7800GT's come with VIVO support, so you should be able to hook it up without too much issue (maybe some BSOD's, I got those when I tried to use my VIVO functionality after installing the driver :() Maybe try FS/T or Ebay? Or EVGA themselves?

I've heard that there is some latency in some video input devices such that gaming on them is difficult, as your input is not in synch with what's displayed.

Since the cost to you is only a SVIDEO cable since you already have VIVO, I'd go ahead and try it and see if it's ok.

s-video is limited to 480i, so HD isn't really going to happen through that connection type.

ok, my lcd monitor got a dvi and vga port. I am currently using dvi port to my 7800gt. If I get a vga cable for 360, how do I switch between the dvi input from my pc or the vga input for the 360? In case you are wondering my monitor is an 19 inch Hanns-g HC194D.

Even if S-video is limited to 480i, it is still way better than my living room mono 15 years old tube tv.
