Best Price I've seen so far WITHOUT a rebate involved. IMO...looks like the X850XT deals for ~$210 are starting to have an impact on 7800GT prices (plus the release of X1900XT for ~$495 to $525 ain't hurt'n neither;).

OEM doesn't bother me either...I've got so many video card related cables it isn't funny.

LMAO...I see you also removed the link which didn't work:) I must have "edited" my post 5 times trying to get that darn link to XtremeGear to work. Glad I wasn't the only one to have a problem with the link:)

I checked the pricing for my current 7800GT at EVGA.com (when I 1st bought the card) and it didn't seem like a good deal to me (i.e., their pricing was ~$100 more than a "good" price elsewhere). So for me...the trade up program really doesn't seem like a deal at all. Same thing goes for ATI's trade up program (IMO).

The step-up is only worth it if you're planning on upgrading your card within 60 days (could be 90, not sure)... that's not enough time for it to become "obsolete."

This deal is HOT.

Just to mention that the new Nvidia card is coming out in february or march ( 90 days btw) also... its horrible to drop $500 on a vid card, but $300 now and $200 much later.... why $300 now and $450 in the future.. think guys think. :D

Thanks:)

People need cards today to play the games at settings they like. It's not like the 7800GT will be available for $150 any time soon. Personally, and from the "bang for buck" side of things, I prefer the X850XT for $210, but I posted this deal for those who don't mind dropping the extra $75 to get better performance;)

oh definitely sorry to threadcrap, but drop $304 shipped at newegg, get a retail EVGA 7800 GT N516 w/ copper heatsinks and manufacturer overclocked which is pretty well, and step up within 90 days

this is pretty hot for a 7800GT, just little over a month ago my friend got his BFG 7800GT OC for $436(after tax). 7800GT runs hella good games but a bit loud. i'd actually wait for 2 or 3 more month this thing will drop on price big time.

I think a "basic" 7800GT (retail) will go for $240 in 3 months. Even with the X850XT selling for $~210, I think many peeps would consider the 7800GT worth $30-$40 more. ATI does have a BIG gap in cards from a price and performance perspective and they either need to come out with more middle to high end models and/or cut the prices on some models. If they droped the price of the X1800XL to say $240...this would "shore up" their lineup.

nVidia also has a huge whole to fill (e.g., a 7800GT goes for ~$280 and the 7800GTX goes for >$400). That's a problem IMO.

difference == Core clock speeds... n515@445MHz, n517@470MHz
Slight change in Memory clock as well (1070MHz -> 1100MHz)

eVGA's RMA process is the best I've ever encountered. Top notch.
