EVGA 680i SLI - 2nd Video Card won't detect. Help!

Hey guys. I recently purchased a evga 680i SLI board along with two 8800 gts cards. Now, for some reason my second SLI'ed card won't get detected by windows. I am able to run each card individually, however when both are connected in there is no indication of a second card being there in the device manager.

I have purposely taken off the SLI bridge after not being successful to test if the card detected that way. No luck. I am begining to think that the slot itself is damaged, but I just want to see what you all thought before I RMA the board. Is there any way to see if it is the PCI slot that is broken?

BTW I am running Vista 64, if that matters. Newest mobo and video card drivers are installed, along with the latest mobo bios.
 
When you say you are "able to run each card individually" does that mean you are swapping out the cards and putting each into GFX slot 1 and seeing if its detected?

If not, that's your first step.😉

Ya, thats what I did. Each card worked fine that way.
 
is there some kind of jumper or switch or one of those little cards you have to flip or power connector or SOMETHING on the motherboard that you've overlooked? check the manual. also check the bios for some obscure sli setting.
 
No switch or card to flip to enable SLI on the EVGA 680 SLI. You do however need to plug in another power cable on the MOBO.

And you should always reinstall Forceware when swapping video cards or adding a second card.
