eVGA 6600GT rendering problem

I got a new eVGA 6600GT and wanted to try out the Far Cry demo just to see how it compares. Perfomrance wise, it seems good, but the same can't be said for image quality. I have set the in game preferences to display everything at highest qulaity, but I get wierd issues with shadows and there aren't any reflections is the water, etc. I have done the modification to the card's bios to enable temperature sensing. But it looked the same before and after the mod. My card does seem to run a little hot (~60-65 C), but I have read a couple of places that it is ok for the video card to be around there.

Any suggestions?

The rest of my system:

Chaintech VNF4 Ultra
Athlon 64 3000+
2 x 512MB Corsair Value Select
Seasonic 350W Super Tornado (something like that) with a 20 pin connector
- also have the 4-pin connector to the board

EDIT: I have the 7189 driver

I have the same problem with my XFX 6600 GT in FarCry. I think it's in the drivers. I had a similar problem with Battlefield 2 as well cause I didn't install the 77.30 drivers that come with the demo. Those drivers fixed all the problems I was having with BF2. Havent tried it with FarCry yet but I will when I get back to my place. Take a look here http://www.3dchipset.com/index.php and try out the 77.30 drivers.

What refresh rate are you running it at? Make sure that its the same as your moniter. Maybe it could be a problem related to Vsync.

Edit: Take Nate's advice.
