EVGA 320mb 8800gts 279.00$-20.00$ rebate=259.00$

This is going off of memory from reading some DX10 card reviews over a month ago, but I think that version of memory is best for 1600* and less res.

I got mine yesterday and installed it. I'm running Vista, and the drivers SUCK, so I dunno that I can make a legitimate comparison over my old 7800GT just yet, but SupComm does seem to be a lot faster with multiple units on the screen. WoW has this horrible problem where the framerate drops to like 5 when you turn sometimes, which sucks, but again, has to be drivers, since it never happened to me with the 7800GT with the same settings.

I think it's a solid upgrade and the price is the best yet, but until Nvidia gets their stuff together when it comes to driver support for their 8800 series cards, I can't exactly recommend it to anyone, especially if you run Vista. By the time they fix the driver issues, the card will probably be $40-$50 cheaper at least.

Sure you have the latest Nvidia Vista drivers? I am not having the same problem with mine. Using Evga 680i MB & Evga 8800GTS. 32 bit Vista.

I do have doubts about NVIDIA fixing most of the dx-9 related games drivers. Up coming dx-10 games in coupling with Vista issues will keep Nvidia's software dvelopers to their knees. Keep in mind too that Nvidia tends to give Vista's the utmost priorities in order to keep MS happy.
