Everytime I boot, Windows does a Scan disk on my D: Drive....

....right before going into the welcome screen. Its been going on for over a week now. Evertime I boot, doesnt fail. Even if I let it go all the way through. I've checked the boot up processes and dont see anything suspicious.

Any suggestions? Anyone seen this before?

Do your backups immediately, it could be a sign of a failing disk.
Run chkdsk manually. Maybe with a /R or atleast /F. Not sure if that will help though...

EDIT: Check event viewer for any error messages too.

warcrow, your gamer's pouch looks relatively sparse for such a hardcore gamer ;) I think I might actually beat you in sheer quantity :Q

haha, actually I just set it up and am still adding games. ;) You should reg on gamers pouch. We're trying to get gamers from AT to reg there (its free). Its run by one a AT regular. :)

i was thinking about it, but i'm slowly trying to work on my own website, and figured i would put it there anyway... i will have to look in to it.

Yeah, I had this problem a while ago.
Boot with the XP CD into the Recovery Console.

chkdsk /p d:

(Yes, it is /p in Recovery Console).
Run that two or three times. Reboot.

Your problem should be gone.
