Just thought I'd throw in a couple that have brought me down in the past:
1) if something is a problem, frickin' tell the person around whom it centers. Don't tell your friends or think it'll pass over when it's actually festering; talk about it. Along the same lines, if you want to talk about something, bring it up yourself. We probably won't.
2) reading into your relationship from a conversation about, say, baseball, is absolutely not allowed. We speak off the cuff; we may not mean every word. Bringing it up later with your interpretation is strictly illegal.
3) Don't get fantastically attached after the first date. We're not perfect, though we all think we're pretty damn great.
