CT scans involve a decent amount of radiation. They are full body 360 xrays. Nothing that surprising.

There was actually a pretty good article somewhere talking about how hospitals were cutting back on these sorts of treatments. Fro example suggesting women get mamograms less often. I believe they number of people who develop cancer from medical diagnostic procedures was in the thousands each year. This is why you are supposed to not get x-rays unless you really need them. Its also the reason my overprotective mother never let us get dental X-rays (she was scared of brain cancer). But yes, the poitn is that EVERYTHING causes cancer. The things which fight cancer (radiation and chemotherapy) are actually highly cancer causing in their own right. the point being that if you are already dying then the risk is wroth it, but if you are jsut being paranoid and want CT scans or x-rays every year your doing yourself more harm than good.
