Everyone's wrong about GPUs

I think he's saying that cut-down GPUs are not the vanilla product; the full GPUs are.

But why does that matter? Especially if the vanilla product is overpriced or unavailable and everybody gets the cut down product instead?

I always buy vanilla. You can always make it any other flavor you want anyways. 🙂
 
Vanilla is a flavor, your life is a lie.

Should be unflavored ice cream mix (or something like "sweet cream"), with no vanilla flavoring added.

Also for cars, the base model can typically include the "absence" of features that were taken away from a default model. You see this because the car will have "blanks" inserted where buttons used to be. The car has the form of intending to include those buttons, and the blanks are put there to remind you of your cheapness so you buy the more expensive car next time that has the features as god intended when he made car in his own image.
