Everyone's using DELLs

What's wrong with Dell? We use them at work, to the tune of about 15,000 units. They have their issues but, all in all they're pretty good. I've got 2 desktop units in my office that I have had for just about 3 years now and have had no problem with either of them. I will say they could use a little bit of product improvement on their D series laptops.

I use a mac and and IBM.But yeah every computer at my school, from the library to the facultys are Dell.

Even in the TV shows. Stargate SG-1, 24... everyone is using dells.

Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed! 😱

I'm only using a Dell at work where I had absolutely no choice in matter. I have 3 computers at home. None of them are Dells.

Edit-My Dell at work is silent. I have a co-worker who got one with a noisy fan though and she's been living with that damned thing for about 6 months waiting for a replacement part from Dell. Dell customer sevice sucks ass.

They only issues I've had with the Dells in my office have been failed Hard Drives mostly from a rash of bad Western Digitals.

I work with pretty much everything dell makes and I recommend not buying one to anyone looking for a computer.

Out of curiosity, what brand would you recommend CorporateRecreation?

I second that Dell's customer service sucks. We've been a Dell customer for years at work and I'm counting down the days until we can escape from their clutches. Their service and customer reps absolutely blow chunks these days. It's like selling a computer to the customer is a chore for them now and they'd just rather not deal with you if they didn't have to.

<-- Prepares to punch CR in the face if the answer is HP 😉

and the 55 processes that run in the background by default

Who puts a machine into production with the default setup? 😕

What I meant by previous statement was that when you get your little Dell pos, there are a ton of processes, like support, mcafee bloated center AV, mmjb, etc, and that's about 55 processes.

Thanks
