I watched a highlight reel of Barry Sanders a little while ago.... I'm sorry noone NOONE can move like that.... holy jesus... The man was superhuman.

All these attempts to make comparisons is just staight lame. Barry Sanders is so far above and beyond it's not even funny.

nuff said.

Just imagine if he was a selfish player, and insisted he be traded to a winning team.

Just think what his stats would be if they measured East/West yardage!

Barry Sanders, Sweetness and Jim Brown. Thus ends the list of the best RBs of all time. Others may come close but I have yet to see anyone surpass those guys IMO.

Imagine how he would've been if he had the Cowboys OL that Emmitt Smith had. He'd be doing those crazy moves past the scrimmage line instead of behind.

Sometimes I think that on 50% of the highlight films, the opposing team is the Bucs. We'd stop him for -1 yards, then -3 yards, and then he'd have a 80 yd TD.

He definately retired too young.

Emmitt was only good because of his line. At best he was good, not great.

And yet even with those two, a good QB, the best WR money could buy, and a good defense they still couldn't get a sniff at a national championship.

At least he gave us Detroiters something to cheer about for those years. Even though they sucked, there was always Barry.

Now they just suck.

Edit: Not to mention one of the classiest players in the league. Make a highlight reel touchdown, flip the ball to the referee, high five your teammates, and get back to the sidelines.

okay cause Jim Brown was 5.2

But he was around before super bowls were around so many people don't remember him ;)

There's more to a running back than his YPC, you have to take into consideration his O-line, and the defenses he had to play against. I think when you add that up, and you look at what Barry did, given his situation, I think he's a better back than Brown. Which by the way because Brown himself is superhuman, makes Sanders EVEN MORE incredible.

The Lions are snakebitten. Two great RB's left them early. One, Billy Sims, by injury. The other, Sanders, because he got tired of losing and lost his passion for the game.

He was great. Some of his highlight runs i swear look photochopped. Just too cool.

One of the greatest RBs that ever lived.

However, it was a messy situation with the Lions at the end, which made me lose some respect for him.

Jim Brown didnt have to play for the Lions either. I would say that is good for AT LEAST 0.2 YPC :p

All kidding aside, I would have to agree with the poster before on the big 3 of the backfield.

Payton and Brown are up there for sure, but stats be damned Barry Sanders is #1 in my book.

Most exiting player I have ever seen play the game, yet he still remains one of the most humble. He was pure class on the field or off. It was a sad day when he hung up the cleats.
