You're still a culinary coward. Ever seen cattle slaughtered or poultry processed? I've never figured out why so many folks prefer not to know where their food comes from. Maybe that's why fast food is so popular, no relation to anything that grows.

A slab of meat is different than seeing an insect on a plate. It's disgusting, but I'm not a "coward" because I'm not afraid to eat it. It's still DISGUSTING. Hell, I eat those thousand year old duck eggs with the green slime willingly (still disgusting).

Sounds like you have other food issues. Tell me, do you like your food not to touch, avoid certain consistencies or, need your toast cut into triangles before eating? More food knowledge means less "disgusting" and less culinary cowardliness. Eating something on a dare simply means you can overcome your culinary hangups if you want to. 'Course, you have to want to.

Since I don't want to repeat the same thing 3 times, I'll just ask this... are you as defensive about everything else you don't agree with? Your alliteration is noted so you can drop it. The thing I have trouble understanding is - because you're some kind of food savant, you're better educated on what others may view as visually disgusting? I thought presentation was a big part of it? My hangup obviously has nothing to do with willingness to eat it... dare or need... read first post.

Back to the topic of hypocrisy... which category of ignorance and unwillingness to try do you fall under? Or are you one of these other perfect people?

ya, theres a big difference in not eating something that is visually displeasing to you and knowing where your food comes from. my kids know whats in hot dogs but still eat them, yet you put a lobster in front of them and they think it looks ugly and dont want to eat it. they have all tried it, one out of three liked it with a creamy cheese sauce over it. i love crab, but when i went to a restaurant and they served it with the crab body shell over it with the eyes still in it i sent it back. i just dont want to see the eyes staring at me. the chef came out and apologized, since they usually cut that part out before sending it to the table. he gave me a free meal too, which was delicious.

you sound like a food snob (the first guy, not the one right above).

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread. To answer your questions, I am passionate about food and "because you're some kind of food savant, you're better educated on what others may view as visually disgusting?" In short, yes. Plate presentation means enhancing the appearance not hiding the foods origins. Work on those hangups you'll enjoy life and eating more. :D

Despite my constant decrying of "the stupid", I do enjoy a good savory moron from time to time.

It's true. I'm talking about my day to day routine and interactions. I can't think of anything at all that I'm hypocritical about but since it's possible I'm missing something I narrowed the scope.

Don't be a dick.

Post less. ;)

Don't be a dick. <----- He said while being a dick himself.

Post less. ;) <----- He said while posting.

Here, I helpfully pointed out two instances of you being a hypocrite just in one post on AT.

Like I said, "Think harder, post smarter." :p

Telling you to stop being a dick doesn't make me one and it's pretty funny that you tried to draw that comparison.

After reading your initial comment again, it is actually quite amusing that you were a dick to me for no reason as my two comments came after the fact that you tried to prove me wrong. Before that you had nothing which makes your "Think harder..." comment even more pointless.

FYI, posting on AT is not my day to day routine so you are wrong either way as I covered that in my initial post.

Do0d, stop crying, no one on-line cares about you one way or the other . . . certainly not me.

You made a HOWLINGLY STUPID and ridiculously unreflective satement, "I am not hypocritical about anything" in a thread that underscored the eternal truth that we are all hypocrites in ways large or small, no exceptions.

And . . . stop being a dick about trying to prove you're weren't being a dick about me pointing out that you were one huge hypocritical dick for calling me a dick for pointing out that you are a dick, dick. ;)

You're either fundamentally humor challenged or just plain stupid.

Or both. :p
