You only believe alcohol isn't a drug because it is socially accepted. By that logic, you'd believe rape was legal if it was also socially accepted.

Alcohol kills more people than any other drug except for tobacco. No one is telling you to stop drinking; just don't be hypocrites and hate on others for their recreational activities when you're just like them.

Btw, I had an experimental phase a few years back as well as a prolonged period of smoking cannabis, but I found it to be boring after a while and quit. So no, I'm not some right wing bastard.

Personally, I think weed should be legal. And no, I don't do weed. I do enjoy the occasional martini or a glas of wine though. :wine:

It's just funny what things the law makes legal and illegal, but it's no surprise to me because we have morons that run this country and enforce the laws. OP makes a good point. Alcohol categorically ruins many people's lives, but if used moderately is relatively safe. This platitude is applicable to many illegal drugs.

The government wastes so much money fighting the war on drugs. Why not legalize and put exorbitant taxes on these substances, and spend most of the revenue on social programs?
