Do you know your extensions don't work? You can disable compatibility checking, and most will work fine.

yea but if it aint broke....
i remember the awesome bar thing they did last time. now they messed with the tab order. i just don't feel the rush to upgrade unless its a security update anymore.

Pedantic? They load practically instantly and disappear a fraction of a second after that. Like it actually impacts the browsing experience? Hardly.

It affects the experience big time, you're still waiting on laggy adservers. That's the only reason I block ads. I don't care if they're on the page, but I don't want to wait for them to load.

Firefox can get bent with it's memory leaks, etc. I'm moving to Chrome.

Chrome has just as many of those problems. Just try loading up a lot of tabs and coming back to them you will see. It is not just a firefox problem. Firefox handles it the best out of the two.

Tab order you can fix in about:config. That was one of the first things I changed. I like my tabs loading at the end of the list.

Add their domain to your hosts file. Bam, done.

Isn't Chrome just a thinly veiled IE? Because I swear the last time I went to Chrome's Options, it took me to IE's Options...

No, it's built from the ground up. I'm not sure what was going on in your case.

chrome will never support adblock preemptively the way firefox does. ads are google's bread and butter

Yeah, it is its own browser, but it does use the same settings as IE. If you make a change in IE's settings for proxy and stuff, the changes will also apply to Chrome.

Open Chrome, go to Options > Proxy > be :awe:

Chrome builds on the OS settings. Just like Chrome on Mac, it will use the proxy settings that are set by the operating system.

Why recreate what is already available from a settings point of view. Chrome also uses the Microsoft certificate stores on Windows.

It is one thing that pisses me off about Firefox. You have to maintain two different certificate stores. Two different network settings. It is duplicate work. Chrome uses what is already available. If it needs more then it goes above and beyond it when needed.

While correct for Chrome, Chrome is built from Chromium. Chromium is open source so it could be done as a fork

I'll pass... Chrome still has a ways to go on its adblocking extensions. The blocking of the ads after they are loaded is highly annoying... I like my pages to load as if the ads were never there to begin with.... And not look all fucked up and shit. Ugh, it's so annoying. >_<

Wow, it's amazing how sensitive people are to ads. I've never used an ad blocker and just learned to filter advertisements out. I don't even see them anymore. Seems like people spend way too much energy trying to filter out something harmless.

He's saying that when you open network options in Chrome, it takes you to Internet Options. Internet Options is NOT Internet Explorer- it's Window's network settings.
