Whenever I see an Escalade I think "that's a college education driving down the road."

They cost about the same. Actually college has gone up since I first came up with that six or seven years ago, but it's still pretty close for the cheaper public universities.

It is monumentally stupid to spend that much money on a vehicle. I'm not jealous at all of people who waste money on crap.

Overpriced garbage. Lots of vehicles fall into this category, unfortunately. Ill say it again, overpriced garbage. And so is the Navigator. Trash.

And the best part is when I have to listen to owners of older used escalades cry, moan and complain about $100 fill ups. Wah Wah.

I hate everyone who has a more expensive car than I do...my wife being a notable exception of course.

I used to see Escalades around here all the time, especially in my neighborhood. Then they all foreclosed on their homes and moved somewhere else. :awe:'

EDIT: But to be fair I've never minded Escalades on the road. It's the Mitsubishi and Acura drivers that need to die in a ruptured-gas-tank-induced fire.

EDIT #2: And Chevy Impala owners.

70k for an '11 escalade? Jesus....

I rather drop by a BMW dealership and get a nice 335i for half the price.

exactly considering they're just overpriced Chevy SUVs.

if I was given one I'd turn around and sell it and get something else.

They're a little high for what you get but if you got the cash who cares? What's the point of making money if you don't spend it? I'd have to have about 4 million before I delved into that profligate spending tho. I still buy used domestics 1/2 off 1 year old and run them into the ground.

Er...okay? Not sure exactly what your point is, OP, but...yeah...

POV 1 (OP included): "People with Escalades and ginormous SUVs are such pretentious pricks and they ruin the environment."

POV 2: "OP is a hater."

Basic template for most of ATOT threads.

Escalades are popular with the lawless set - hence they are the most stolen vehicle

I personally laugh at drivers of Smart cars. Always wishing I had a "DUMB" magnet to slap on those I walk past.

That's not an SUV. Good luck fitting 2 large dog crates, 2 kids, and a trunk full of luggage in that thing...

The escalade is just a luxurious version of the suburban. I would love to have either one if I had the money.

I laugh when I see that EXT one which is basically a Chevy Avalanche with all sorts of crap stuck on it. If you need the utility of an Avalanche, why get all the nice leather and wood trim? It's just going to get messed up when you use it the vehicle for what it's made to do. Fabric would be easier to clean and wear better when doing outdoorsy stuff or hauling cargo.

Yeah I never got the appeal of the truck version. It's not like you are going to be loading your escalade up with lumber and mulch.
