While changing from my thunderbird to my duron I chip the core of the duron becasue of the Fing fan clip on the FOP32. Something has to be done about this clips. They are to hard to connect and I am sure i am not the first one to damage a piece of their core because of the clip. If any of you geniuses out there can make a better fan clip. I will buy it. Luckly the duron survive and is running at 900 but that stupid clip is not entirely on. Has anybody had this happen too?

No problems with my Alpha's here, But I don't think I'm supposed to use the PEP66 on a AMD anyway (like I care 😛)

I think the proper spring mechanisms have been designed, and they are the ones that have only one contact point between the clips, not two. If you look at the retail AMD heatsink clips they are of this variety, while some of the .25u celeron coolers have two contact points on their spring mechanism. Kinda like this

/\/\ right

/\/\/\ wrong
I think I read this somewhere. I am not creative enough to make it up.

well try to bend the clip slightly before you put it on the cpu, it will make it easier to put the heatsink on the cpu
