I think the OP is onto something. As a parting gift, BCBS of GA (aka Anthem) just decided that my ambulance ride back in July wasn't deserving of more than 40% of the county ambulance cost. Imagine calling 911 for an unconscious spouse covered on your plan and finding out five months later, the day after Xmas, that they only cover 40% even though you already met both your deductible and maximum out of pocket costs. Still, they decide to only cover 40% of it. Nice.
The silver lining of all of this is that had I been on my employers [so called] insurance they would have said that the $75K in bills still wouldn't have met the $2K deductible because my employer is a POS. Go silver linings!
