Every 100lbs=100mS increase in 1/4 mile time?

This is according to a dude that lives two doors down in the dorms. Even though this is non-sense in physics perspective I don't know how much sense it makes among racers.

Is this a somewhat meaningful statement or pure BS?

Definitely true. A five hundred pound man would beat a 100 lb man in a 1/4 mile race by at least 400ms.

Could be, but I don't know jack about the "real world" quarter mile performance. It could very well be the truth, misinformation or plain old joke.

It's generally fairly close when you're talking about cars that weigh roughly 2500-3500lbs and run 12-16 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

if she was in the car when you did your weigh-in and run down the quarter, then yes.

That is correct. We are removing, or adding as the case may be, weight. This not as dramatic as increasing HP.
