Everquest under Win 2K?

Anyone know of a way to install EQ in win 2K? It will not install, because the first thing that happens when the installsheild is loading is it says "unable to extract install files". In fact I get that a lot, so if you have any idea on a way to get around that error message please let me know. Thanks!
 
Well normally I might agree, but I have the same problem with programs I download from the 'net unless they are designed for win2K. Any ideas?
 
I solved the problem by running apcompat.exe and selecting the "use pre-windows 2000 temp path" checkbox. anyone know how to change a setting so that it always uses a "pre 2K temp path" thanks.
