whooaa. i get a get an email saying come back to EQII and that they still have my character on file! etc etc.

I tried like last summer to get on but sony claimed to not be able to resurrect them since ti was err..like 7 years.

i downloaded the game and woot! it's there ...but i can't use half my gear unless i decide to pay lol. the FREE monthly part won't allow me the gear i earned. since it was rather good for the time.

They pretty much keep your characters indefinitely, I believe. I've left and came back to EQ2 a couple times, and all my toons were still there. Never did any free comeback promotion though, so the gear restrictions are new to me. Sounds kinda bogus. Without that gear, you could very well be stuck in the older, lower level zones and wouldn't be able to experience the higher level content that would make you want to resub.

The gear thing is because it went Free to Play. You have to have certain paid levels of account to access higher end gear and most of the races and classes. If I tried to go back now, I would only have access to I think one out of my 5 characters, and I had been a Station Pass subscriber so I got the one of the higher levels permanently free. You have to basically still pay a monthly fee or pay to unlock each type of thing now to get what you got out of a subscription before.

They deleted my characters due to a credit card dispute when they triple charged me. Even though it was their fault they wouldn't help. Never again Sony.
