Everquest Classic

Here is a website that is attempting to recreate EQ Classic before all the expansions. It runs off of EQEmu and requires the Titanium edition of the game ($10-20). Great idea for old players and even new players that never got to experience the original game (today it is completely different). It still appears to be a few months out, but definitely worth waiting to see how it turns out. After the initial server is brought up, they will release the second expansion after 6 months and the third after another 6 months. Also, the goal of this is to be 100% original as well, the current SoE progression server still included many spells/abilities and game mechanics that were upgraded/added/modified over the years so it wasn't a truly classic experience.

I don't think we'll see many people jumping on the boat here, but it is an interesting idea for those of us that played EQ from it's beginning back in the day.

i got in on this just the other day researching wow servers. so i load up my copy of titanium edition... and it's running ok...so i play it for a bit...and ill add it to the things to do in the next free days to get it working

Progression servers are good and all that but unless you have 20 friends for a guild it's probably pointless, ya? Otherwise you're just hanging out watching things progress like you did originally.

Are there like major fights in the progression servers to see who does what first? Sleeper, Time, etc.
