Grouping is required to complete elite quests and to get decent gear. By 50 most people are well versed in grouping and doing Maraudon or maybe even Sunken Temple. At 60 it's BRD/BRS, Stratholme & Scholomance. If you tend to spend a lot of time LFG as a priest... honestly, I don't know what to say... On my server all healers are at a premium, even as a shaman I get a lot of random tells asking if I'd like to join groups. I'm always wanted in guild groups and recently a guy has been organizing open 10-15 man raids on Scholo & Strath.Originally posted by: Boze
People play MMORPGs to be social, to interact, and WOW is piss-poor at that. No interaction is really 'required'.
Agree with you there, WoW is great but tailored to the casual player - which I'm not. Always said though, that I only wanted it to hold me over till this title, and so far it's doing an excellent job.*sigh* I can't wait for Vanguard... till then, 50 holy/disc priest LFG for anything...
I've stated my position on Sony and given examples. You've made one-liner responses because you have no argument. Seriously, if the Sony fanboys in this thread are indicative of the general EQ2 population (and judging by EQ1 at the end and the type of person it takes to put up with Sony, they are), I'd suggest sticking with WoW.Originally posted by: obsidian
Gurck has a personal vendetta against SOE. Just play the game. If you like it, continue to play. If you don't, stop playing. Very simple.

Lol, I contend that EQ2 sucks because <reasons a, b and c>, and most of that being the company behind it, you respond by ignoring it because I'm right and instead calling me a fanboy of the competition? After I've expressed dissatisfaction with said competition on a number of points? You fanboys make some incredible leaps of logic to keep your game/company/etc of choice on that pedestal in your mindsOriginally posted by: Bateluer
Gurck, you are possibly the biggest WoW Fanboy I have ever met. Even though you haven't actually played EQ2, you still don't miss any opportunity to bash it. You are even worse than the WoW players I work with that bash EQ2. As least they listen to me when I talk about EQ2 and acknowledge WoW plethora of problems that render it unplayable during peak hours.

I move that the mods edit out all of Gurck's posts in all EQ2 threads for his repeated bias and misleading of other forum members.
Most people feel it is, and it has far more subscribers than eq2. While it's not tailored to noncasual gamers, this has nothing do do with quality, fit & finish.Originally posted by: Malladine
no it isn'tOriginally posted by: Gurck

How are quests done better in EQ2 than WoW? Are they more intelligent and have less of the "collect 50 gorilla gibblets for me and I'll give you my pocket change and some exp" type?
If you've read this & other threads, you'll see I'm for the most part not bashing, but rather stating factual information about the company behind EQ2 and merely inferring what effects this has on EQ2 based on my experiences with their other games and products.Originally posted by: Zugzwang152
They are different games, but that still doesn't give you a right to bash a game you haven't even played. Same goes for whoever is bashing WoW and hasn't played it.
Thanks for agreeing with me, now tell that to christoph83, who will disagree with you.Reading people's opinions on a board, and reading patch notes doesn't count for gameplay experience.
Aw shucks, thanks!Originally posted by: Hadsus
I'm amazed at you Gurck......you managed to engage all these people on the relative merits of WoW vs. EQ 2.....and yet never have played EQ 2. I've played both but still wouldn't even waste a minute of my time debating you.
In any case, I'm impressed.

That pretty much sums up EQ2 quests, except for the harder ones and some of the heritage quests. Although I've heard WoW quests are no better.

[eq2]showed many more advertisements during installation (Intel, Alienware, Nvidia, etc) than with WoW, but i just alt tabbed out of it and surfed AT on firefox while i was waiting for it to install, no biggie there.
You're excusing them alreadyEQ2 does have a few Advertisements (dell, nvidia, etc. splash screens) when you first start it up, which WoW does not have, but you can click thru them without a problem, not that annoying

I really, really hate it when people put words in my mouth. I realize you have no argument and are desperate - please consider the option of shutting up, as lying about what others have said is pretty low, though not surprising from an EQ2 fanboy. Yes, you are a fanboy for defending them so violently for no apparent reason, lying and attacking when lacking any tangible argument.Originally posted by: obsidian
According to you, every person who likes EQ2 is a fanboy.

What the hell are you talking about? PoE-B, i'm assuming the Rathe Council encounter that you're talking about, was fixed before Omens came out.
