Not very many people are anymore, apparently. It's what happens when you allow the lunatics to run the asylum.

See the enrollment to Mizzou after the protests. When this crap is allowed to happen the sane students and parents notice and start looking elsewhere.

Oops. For some reason I had it in my head that it was near Portland.
That's Reed College. Similar but more expensive. Olympia is only 2 hours from Portland anyway.
Question, I always assumed you were from BC, is that not correct?

Some people aren't afraid to push the boundaries of new ideas.

They are definitely afraid, that’s why we now have safe spaces and trigger warnings and a push to silence certain ideas. Coddling students and insulating them from ideas that they emotionally melt over, the sjw push isn’t to push boundaries but rather erect and enforce them.

University of Missouri freshman enrollment jumps, but overall numbers are still down

"After years of MU enrollment decline, this year’s freshman class of 4,696 students represents an increase of 13.1 percent over 4,134 a year ago. That is the biggest freshman jump MU has seen in a decade. But the overall campus enrollment continued to drop.

The university also saw a record 87.3 percent of the previous year’s freshman return for another fall semester.

“Our strong retention rate, which is one of the highest among all of Missouri’s universities, shows us that students have successful academic experiences on campus,” said Kim Humphrey, interim vice provost for enrollment management.

Cool story bro?

If your attendance is overall down - for ANY major state university... you're doing it wrong detective dipshit.

But then again, you're on the low intelligence meter, so it's not surprising....

You have trouble understanding what you read it seems. There must be some kind of tutoring you can look into?

Oh yeah, honk that big red nose again. It's funny. :)

I’m afraid colleges will succumb to the push to become safe spaces where certain ideas and topics are no longer explored. Institutes of higher education should be incubators of the free exchange of intellectual ideas, even offensive ones. Safe spaces, trigger warnings, banning certain speakers through no platforming - this all prevents that. Students should attend college to push their intellectual boundaries and be exposed to all manner of things and challenge them, not coddle them so they are emotionally hurt. Yeah I’m afraid of colleges being dumbed down in the name of social justice.

That's because you don't have a clue as to what is actually happening at universities. What you are really being frightened by is your own ignorance.

A beautiful city. I'm from Portland, born and raised. Yaknow, it just pisses me off, we get these jackasses from backwater Louisiana telling us we're doing it all wrong because that's what they read on Breitbart, while nobody wants to live where they live.

Damn, it's staring you right in the face and yet...

But thanks for the nose honk. It's always good for a chuckle.

Thanks for proving you're too stupid.

It's funny - even the lefties here laugh at how fucking stupid you are.

You seriously just posted a link stating how attendance is STILL DOWN but you somehow are trying to portray them as making some BIG turnaround by having an influx of freshmen.

Go figure, you're pretty slow.

And this college pushed an intellectual boundary that didn't work, and most everyone but you and Someone and the rest of the RWNJs already acknowledged like that 2 years ago. Which makes me think that your fear isn't about intellectual freedom as much as it is social justice.

Right. What I'm interested is what happened here and what feel into place that drove the incident. My inclination is that this type of thing is not the inevitable conclusion of "liberal" ideas, but, I also can't say what makes Evergreen so different that it could not happen again.

Given the school's hard left orientation, they tend to hire extremely radical professors. It's what the school is known for. Those professors were responsible for radicalizing the students who were acting up against Weinstein. Pretty much the blame lies with them, and also with the administration who was too weak and afraid to do what was right.

Also, it's a relatively small school, so a high percentage of courses are in this general area of "grievance studies" which is a specialty of the school. Meaning you get a higher percentage of radical students than you would at a larger institution with a much more varied educational pallet.

There is just so much insecurity oozing from this post. Seriously bro, you must have the tiniest dick on the planet. I'd try to be respectful about your gender inadequecy, but I know that kind of talk isn't PC for you.

I don’t read Breitbart first of all. Second, Louisiana absolutely has problems but I do love the place. Best food in the country. The town I live in was the birthplace of Delta Airlines and CenturyLink which is headquartered here. Louisiana Tech which is about 30 minutes from here is consistently rated as one of the best values for education in the country, had the first nanoengineering programs in the country, and had some extremely intelligent people contributing to LIGO which detected gravitational waves.

Piss on us all you want with your better than thou attitude. Rather than addressing the arguement let’s attack where I live for some reason. When you resort to that I think everyone can tell you hit a wall and have nothing else to say. Cheers

1) Look at UC's post. In particular, look at the headline and chart.
2) Look at my reply and the information the link I provided imparts.
3) Figure it out. It's really, really, really easy.

I understand that the American education system has it's issues but this is getting silly.

Got it. No arguments. No retort. Just you being a typical emotional tampon oozing with insecurities.

Continue on cuck.

Given that there is a 0% chance that Lousiana will go blue next year, and that all your ilk ever does is piss on where I live (this thread included), I don't give a fuck.

ohhh I see. You're too stupid to not know that "enrollment" has absolutely nothing to do with incoming freshman. How cute, gullible, and stupid of you.

It's so cute to see you painting a narrative but being entirely naive to reality. You cute little ding dong.

I had certainly heard of HARP detective dipshit. That doesn't mean you can call a refinance program "debt forgiveness," fucktard. Whatever you do, don't become a lawyer because you're too incompetent to understand basic language.

A beautiful city (but not like it used to be, imo) that has grown too big and waaaaaaay too expensive so next year I hit 69, finally retire, and move to New Brunswick. :)

And hey, deplorables are gonna be deplorables no matter where they're from. <shrug>
