The problem with these Everglide specials is that shipping is like $8. At least it was last time I checked. If I'm wrong than disregard this post.

BTW, if your interested in Mouse skates check here. It was $3.50 for 8" of this teflon tape shipped a few months ago. It looks like it may be cheaper now and it's thicker than what Everglide is selling, 0.005" vs 0.003". You can buy in bulk also if you have friends that want some.

I'm not involved in any way with the guy that's selling this other than I'm a happy customer. You can check their ResellerRatings.

Actually, they are about the same exact price ($11). They look pretty much exactly the same to me bro. I know there is more to it than I am giving credit, but textured plastic is textured plastic 🙂

I think he means going padless is easy to do with an optical. My desktop surface works fine for me. I do think glow pads are cool.

This is a pretty good deal but about 2 months back they were selling those Optica's for $5, game mats for $1 with free mouseskates per order. My modem went to crap and by the time I got back online the sale was over...back to 12 it went. I emailed and called but they never responded to me so fok them! My friend got in on the deal though and he loves the mat.

If anyone is looking for those HUGE cloth mousepads just go to Compusa......they have em (generic brand) for 9.99. I own two and they are HUGE; I wish they made the optical pads this big!
 
Pretty good deal.
I got the SPECIAL OPS Gaming Pad and I couldn't be happier with it.
My Logitech MX700 just glides off the mouse pad when I give it a little push.
I don't much like the GIGANTICAs (too thick), but the Gaming Pads are AWESOME!!!
If you play games with an optical mouse, you should check it out.
I never thought it would make this much of a difference on my game.

NOTE: The Optical pads are made with a special reflective material that it makes the wireless mice run on a power save mode, which makes the batteries last longer and it doesn't affect performance.
 
IMHO, I'm not impressed by these....well, the one I have.

It's an Everglide, black, oval shaped with wrist indent for wrist pad.

It's a great surface, but it wore down and became "sticky" pretty quickly. I used a MS-intelli mouse optical and a Logitech optical on it for playing games......middle section drags on mouse, edges are smooth as silk.

Tried cleaning per their "technical support" suggestions.....little change.....

do you have trouble locating your mouse buttons in the dark? =P

i use an old hard plastic jagged surface with the built in gel-wristpad. i use it more for the wristpad than the surface..

hey that thing is pretty cool. i think instead of paying 25bucks for one ill make my own using those acrylic sticks and 2 leds. if youre confused, try searching for the 'diy bmw angel eyes' on the net

EDIT I sent an e-mail to Everglide griping about the shipping charge. I got a reply this afternoon! They said if I only want the skates, I could just send a money order to them for the $2 and they'd ship 'em. That's better, but I already bought the ones at Fragware.net. 😉 Sorry Everglide!
