Ever wondered what is inside a stretchy hair band?

What difference does it make if they're not used? So far as I can see the article doesn't actually mention anyone specifically saying they found a used condom. Seems like that just became part of the rumor (quite predictably, I might add) as it spread.

Hahahaha. I'm going to refrain from telling my girlfriend this and have her wonder why I laugh when I see her wearing them.

my guess is that they are condoms that don't pass inspection, and therefore, not "used" at all.

if they are used, then yes, that is absolutely disgusting and a major health/ethical issue

its dumb to even consider the thought that real used condoms magically find their way into that particular factory in such large numbers that can be used to make the hair ties

Indeed. There are no 'used condom' boxes at recycle centres, they don't ask people to send them in, and they sure as hell are not going to manually sort garbage in order fo find them.

Your local water processing plant would be a great place to get used condoms. I'll bet your average Chinese water processing plant is overrun with those things. They've gotta be disposed of somehow.

Based upon known questionable practices on their other exports here, I don't doubt this for a minute.

<---- very large pony tail.

Every hair tie I've ever used have been rubber bands thank god. I know because they don't last long and you quickly start to see the elastic underneath.

Far far more likely that they go to a landfill. China isn't exactly the first country you think of when you think recycling.

If you're a guy with a ponytail, let me tell you right now that it doesn't look cool, especially not if you're an "otaku"

Obviously they were not put to market, so I see no problem. The article mentions maybe they were used, which is impossible. Who's rooting through the trash for used condoms? Hysterical.

No Otaku. Don't really care if you think it looks cool or not.

Upon reading the topic, I thought you were talking about hair bands. The Glam bands kinda suck IMO. If you count lots of the 80s thrash as hair bands, then those rock, but that's pretty much it IMO.
