Because I was completely sure it was a man until I saw "her" in the article. Even after that I'm not so sure.

She looks like a chick to me. Well, definitely not someone I'd call "chick" to her face, but she looks female for sure.
 
This is news how? I'll say 90% of the population is average/unattractive. If all the women you know are from television and movies, of course you're going to think a large porportion of women are attractive as models. But take a walk outside, and you'll see average/unattractive women all the time.

so along those lines. If the people in charge of the Swan made this female General into a beautiful woman, would she be taken seriously by her subs?
 
Makes me wonder how much she really had to do with overseeing the prison... I'd be willing to bet there are a lot of men hiding behind her and she's going to get stuck being a scapegoat for em... I'm just speculating though..
