Gesher is an israelia word(meaning Bridge and a word of politcis in israel/ Hence the reason it was changed


Sandy dridge is just a place . The word of interest here is bridge. The marriage of Cpu/IGP on same die . Ivy bridge takes it up a step . Haswell is the completed project and all is well. Haswell /Rockwell.

I take it its from Sandy OR. Most other intel CPUs are also named after Oregon and northwest landmarks, like tillamook, cedar mill, northwood, prescott, among many others.

Heck, i live a minute away from the Prescott part of town here in Portland.
