The business men seemed pretty honest about what they were selling.

I can't decide which part of this story is worse. Is it the yellow journalism or the ignorant customers?

It is really sad that people are so stupid. I feel sorry for them. I am sure to them $150 is a lot of money....but not for a bed. You get what you pay for and if something seems too cheap compared to something nice it is for a reason.

I remember seeing this in the news at least 15 or 20 years ago - it's nothing new. Back then, the under cover (pun somewhat intended) investigation showed that when they ripped the outer covering off, a lot of times, the inner layers hadn't been completely replaced - some still had blood stains, urine stains, and all sorts of other crap inside.

LOL, "Enter Sandman" at 1:21

Didn't figure that old guy being a Metallica fan.

Since I live in Metro Detroit, this is one of my news stations...Rob Wolchek also had a piece where he got to play with the band Sponge, live on stage, after a story about one of the guitarists' guitars. So apparently he's a bit of a rocker. :p

edit: video's on the right of that page, heh.

I look at it just the opposite...you should never cheap out on your work shoes/boots or your mattress. You spend TOO much time in the first...and not enough time in the second. You should have the best of both that you can afford.

seems the guy says refurbished when asked.

That was the first thing I noticed 1 minute into the piece, the reporter asks "These are new, right?" and the guy responds "Yeah refurbished". If you hear the word "refurbished" that should be your first major clue.
