One of the perks of working at the VDC is that each of the 84 employees gets a free BMW lease (3, 5, x3, x5, z4, MINI). They are able to wrack up 15,000 miles on the car then return it for a new one. They can get multiple cars per year.

I believe it can as long as the buyer is made aware of the situation. You have to consider that it will be repaired at a BMW repair shop, so we must assume that these people know what they are doing. 😉

It says that it only has to be disclosed to the dealer if it is 3% damage or more, nothing about disclosing the info to the consumer, interesting that even when you buy *new* you might not be getting *new*...don't take this the wrong way as I am not condoning the process, personally I think it is good as you don't want a perfectly good car to go to waste, but I have talked to many who assume that buying something new never touched is the best bet and no matter how often you tell them that even with new something could have happened you don't know about....which is why ignorance is bliss 🙂

Just looked it up. Apparently BMW was sued a number of years ago because of this. They now disclose damage intransit to purchasers.
