Ever wonder how BMW processes it's cars in America?

Hmm..will a dealer disclose info of possible damage if you ask and they know about it? Or will they always say, "of course not, it was no damage! Brand new!"

Oh, and a nice facility. I wanna work there...😛

Man, I can't get over how sweet the six series looks! Argh why Can't I make 20 grand more a year.

It was pretty cool to use BMW's tracking feature when my dad ordered his 325....you could see approx where it was at all times, from germany to here. Sweet.

interesting that the wax is removed at the vdc instead of the dealership...

That stuff is Cosmoline. It's not wax to make the car shiny rather it's a grease that protects the metal from the salt air on the transport ship.

yeah exactly.. why remove any protection from the car before it reaches the dealer and customer?

Cosmoline is a nasty greasy substance that is a REAL pain to remove, would be a pain for dealerships to do it. I used to have to install machinery and all the exposed metal was covered in that crap and I hated trying to remove it.

So what happens to that Mini that was crushed and repaired? Sold as new?

I believe it can as long as the buyer is made aware of the situation. You have to consider that it will be repaired at a BMW repair shop, so we must assume that these people know what they are doing. 😉
