Best Submarine movie ever. I hope you saw the Geerman version.

I thought the German version was best...with subtitles of course. ;)

The dubbing was so good that the first time I saw the movie, I had a hard time figuring out it was dubbed. Although the voice they got for the engineer is not quite right.

Good film, and it wasn't bastardised like U571. I'll hate hollywood forever for that film. That and pearl harbour.

I think that's easily the most depressing movie I've ever seen. I would agree with you, though, that it's incredibly good.

Pearl Harbor was indeed a steaming pile of crap.

I don't have a big problem with U571. Not one of my favorites though.

Jeder macht Fehler. Mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut, wie es irgendein sein sollte.

Der Film = maskuline, singular

Das ist ein guter Film.

Awesome film btw, I was wondering why they just didn't haul ass and get the hell out by diving but then I forgot that those were diesel motors and they need air to run

Surprised no one mentioned K19: The Widowmaker. I thought that was an AWESOME sub movie. Can't go wrong with Neison and Ford.

I didn't much care for the movie. Then again I didn't have the patience that day to read subtitles (no pun intended), so maybe that was most of the problem.

IIRC, the mission itself was entirely fictional. Most of the stuff the Brits captured was from surface ships forcing subs to the surface and capturing the materials.

In fairness they did list the incidents where Enigma material were captured and due credit was given to the Brits.

Filme would be plural.

Die sind gute Filme... or something like that. I should know this stuff better, still has 6-7 months to brush it up though :D

I rate that a meh.

Watching a bunch of guys get acute radiation poisoning for an hour is not really my idea of entertainment.

Die is female.
'Der ist ein guter Film' is correct.

'Die sind gute Filme.' would mean 'Those are good movies'.

Yeah but I meant if you *had* to say "films" you'd say die sind gute filme... grr shouldn't have made it more complicated.
