A lawyer did this in Toronto years ago, sans parachute. The glass wasn't as strong as he though. And yes, that did actually happen, not an urban legend.

It is. Looking at the Video the glass window he jumps out of looks different than the rest. I suspect they swapped the glass for this stunts.

The Mythbusters tested this in one of their earlier seasons, and as I recall they were unable to replicate that result simulating the average weight of a man and the average top running speed.

Not saying it didn't happen, but it is very, very hard to break that glass.
