<< Or if you're really feeling adventurous, pick up a bottle or two (I think the bottles are only about 7oz) of Sam Adams Triple Bock. It's truly amazing stuff. >>

Sam Adams Triple Bock was, at least for a time, the world's strongest beer at 17.5% - apparently they are now making "Millenium Ale," which hits the scales at a whopping 19.5 - 20% alcohol and costs $200 per 750ml bottle! You can check it out here.

As far as ultra-strong beers go I prefer barleywine ales, which I find more drinkable for the most part - that Sam Adams Triple Bock tastes like alcoholic soy sauce, at least IMO.

I wasn't crazy about the Triple Bock....too syrupy for me.

My fave beers(that I can actually get in the states): Renegade Red (CO), New Belguim Triple/Three Sisters/Abbey(CO), Oasis Zoser Stout(CO), Harpoon IPA(MA), Chimay Bleu(BEL). My usual keep-it-in-the-fridge-for-after-work beer is either Bass Ale or Sweetwater 420 (an excellent local Atlanta brew).

As for amazing stuff I can't get here, I have to say that Leffe Radieuse (Belgian) is the absolute bomb. I brought back a suitcase full of that stuff the last time I visited Brussels. I have fond memories of a late, alcohol-soaked night on the Grand Plas eating my body weight in Moules Marinier(sp?) and getting completely stupid on Leffe beer.😀
