I once got four calls in a row from a very angry woman who insisted that my number belonged to a car dealer's body shop. The first three times when I told her she had the wrong number, she said I was wrong and (the dealer) was just jerking her around because they didn't have her car fixed. The fourth time, before I could even tell her (again) she had the wrong number, she launched into a tirade about "don't tell me this is the wrong number again, you @#$^*&", how terrible the dealer service was, how they lied to her about her repair work, the poor quality, and on and on. So to get her to stop calling I interrupted her with "Hello, this is the manager." That at least got her to stop talking.
Then I told her her car would be ready the next day at noon, that she would get a 50% discount on her repair for all the inconvenience and delay, and she could have 10 coupons for free oil changes at the dealership service center. She was happy as a clam and didn't call back any more.
I guess I should have called the car dealer to give them a heads-up, but I didn't.
