been there done that never again

Yeah, I was like that with Planetside. It was only thanks to Sony screwing that game up so much to the point of frustration logging in that got me to quit.

I rocked that game. But the game rocked my life.

I did tell her this, she knows. I am telling you guys because I love you and Im bored at work.

how much do you love me?

I love you a great deal 😉

And Starcraft 2 will be made, it has already leaked out that Blizzard will be making it as a future project. A new Blizzard title is supposed to be announced in Korea this month, whether it will be Starcraft 2 or a different game, it is yet unknown. The fanbase in countries like Korea that Starcraft holds is insane, Blizzard will definetely make a sequel, I would not be suprised if in the future after Diablo 3 they would make a futuristic MMORPG based on the Starcraft universe.

And raiding in WoW has not gotten more flexible or less demanding. There are now more then double the instances and 25 man raid content then there was pre expansion each one with a learning curve equal to 40 man raid content or harder. There is twice as many reputations and attunements. Blizzard would never make a less time consuiming game especially in the expansion, obviously they want people playing as much as possible. They are releasing The Black Temple soon also which will be a tier 6 raid instance with Illidain as the last boss. Even pre expansion only a handful of guilds were able to clear all of Naxx, most only getting up to Patchwerk or Maexxna and not farther.

But this thread is about my GF playing less WoW!!!

Most WoW chick gamers are not hot. You sure about that?

My GF is hot. Around 5,5, 118 pounds, dark hair, hazel eyes, nice behind. She is probably the best looking WoW chick I have seen that actually has uber gear.

After SC2 and D3? That'll be what, 2015? Blizzard takes forever to get games out. I hope you're right about SC2.

What's her character's name and server? 😉 Maybe she's on Faces of WoW!

This is precisely why I've never even read a review for WoW. I know that if I were to start playing I would get sucked in and the rest of my life would deteriorate. Counterstrike was bad enough, and at least with that you can hop on a server for 45 minutes and just leave.

Yup thats what I pretty much do now. I play CS and some wc3 and log off whenever I want to.

I started playing MUDs way back when, moved to DAoC (skipped the whole EQ thing), bowed out of Camelot, played multiplayer Battletech (no, not the MechWarrior series), then recently started playing LOTRO. I'm 33 years old and I can't say that those multiplayer games have impacted any part of my life in a detrimental manner. I get out and about, spend time with my wife, hold a fulltime job, run 4 times a week, etc... and still play my games. It's all about time management and the setting of proper priorities.

Whether or not someone plays a game, we'll use WoW as an example, is a personal choice. There is no such thing as game "addiction", that word gets thrown around too much because is often taken out of context. Game "dependency" maybe, but absolutely not addiction.

The trick is asking yourself this questing "Am I having fun?" If you can't say yes in under 1 second STOP PLAYING. Most people don't notice they aren't having fun playing the game until they get away from it for a few days. Then they wonder why they played so long.

While I applaud your excellent time management abilities, not everyone does the same thing. I tend to obsess over new things like this, but I also am aware of my shortcomings. It's similar to the reason recovering alcoholics often do not drink at all. For you it's easy to play however you want when you want. For me it's an all or nothing endeavor. So with WoW, it's nothing.

Blizzard invited me to a 10 day free trial of Burning Crusade, so I got to give my old level 60 some exercise for a few days.

Looking back, I'm not sure why I ever really enjoyed playing this game. Most of the quests still follow the same old RPG pattern:

Kill x creatures for an XP bonus
Kill slightly bigger x creatures for a slightly bigger XP bonus
Kill the x boss creature for an XP bonus, a small amount of gold, and perhaps an item that's marginally better than one that I already had.

All of the creatures still respawn a few minutes later, too, so there isn't much feeling of accomplishment.

The instance quests also drag on for hours, and just aren't all that fun. Sorry Blizzard, but I just don't miss any of this.

Getting it locked won't do anything. Sooner or later, she will buy another WoW and get back to her old status... and so will you. You both have an addiction. It's a disease. A disease like cancer, AIDS, even alcoholism. Your only way to cure this disease is to follow the 12-step program for alcoholism. However, this 12 step program applies to anyone with an addiction. You MUST find a higher power to not to help you but to actually stop you from this addiction. A higher power CANNOT help you fight this addiction because you cannot win the battle at all.

You are powerless to stop this addiction to WoW. I use to play WoW 12-16 hours a day, everyday for 2 years. I was powerless over my addiction. All that discipline junk didn't work. So I gave myself to the Lord one day and I'm clean of WoW for 155 days now.

Seriously though, I play WoW and learned to manage my time. I don't know how you people get sucked into the game so much. PVE is so goddamn boring and only since they added arena, it only has become quite fun to play with friends. I don't know how you guys have to raid so much, constantly wiping to a boss just to learn it and get dumb loots. (Sorry, I play a rogue and so far, PVE has offered me unimpressive loots so far, up to Vashj and the Phoenix God)

Sorry about that. I won't bring up personal responsibility anymore. 😉

Society turned me into a WoW addict...and then it slept with my girlfriend and kicked my dog.

That's why I PVP, my guild is purely for casual PVPers. If you don't feel like raiding, and have someone to run around and gank stuffs every now and then, transfer to Stormscale and let me know. Unfortunately, we're Alliance but that doesn't me we don't kick butts.

I can't play that game and not raid. I see other people around with mad epics and in tier 4 or 5 and I just hate being inadequete. If I play, I must destroy everyone.

i used to be like that, and then 1 day like 2 weeks ago just decidced to stop playing my char in a raiding guild who is 4 bosses into SSC and can kill the 1st boss in the eye, i was a Grand Marshal pre BC because before naxx came out that stuff was simply amazing,

i just dont wanna play liek that anymore, so i rerolled and am now lvl 20 and having fun lol
