Ever seen ICBM MIRVs hit the ground?

I'm suddenly reminded of the conclusion that I came to the other day that the chief exports of North Dakota are grain, misery, and nuclear warheads.

1) Cool images.

2) Imagine what we could have done with all that technology if we we weren't such violent creatures. What if all the major world powers - USA, Britain, France, Russia, China - had grouped together after WWII and put all that energy into develping a space program or an energy research program instead of competing against eachother to develop increasingly powerful weapons?

Why do we need these again?

Anyone ever get the feeling that we should've stopped coming up with new ways to kill people somewhere between the pointy stick and the nuclear warhead?

Bow and arrow was a little tricky to use but surely the revolver was good enough.. maybe as a species we should have just called it a day there eh?

No, you always need a way to get an edge over the weapons everyone else has.
