Saved a 3 year old from drowning at a church picnic.

It was a pond, and as he was walking into deeper water I was on my way up to him to say hi and check on him. I was the only one who saw him go under, and the water was dark, so if I hadn't been there he was done for. As I walked out of the pond his mom came running up screaming because she realized that he wasn't on the shore.

Kinda made me feel good, but anyone else would have done the same thing, so it's not a big deal.

EDIT: Oh, and at the hospital where I worked last summer before I went off to college, some lady needed emergency surgery. I was only hired for data entry/computer technician, but we were short a secretary that day. My superviser had to run all over the ER (I worked directly in the surgery core), so she needed me to answer the phones as all of the needed equipment was coming in. Given, the surgeons saved her life, but having an extra set of hands around to pick up the phone was helpful.

I think so....

way back when, me and a friend were walking around like dumbasses on a frozen pond in late winter. One section of the pond had the ice receding because of the warmer temps and we were sorta daring eachother to see who can go closer to the edge. Well he won that dare but paid for it by having a section of ice break under him and he went in... I went over to the edge, grabbed his hand and somehow pulled him out. To this day I don't really understand how I pulled him out- considering I was on ice and basically had nothing to grab on to or any friction to really pull him out, but it happened. BTW he didn't know how to swim....

Damn. Wish I could say I saved someone :(

I once told a family member to fvck off due to extenuating family circumstances. They did just that and committed suicide after I talked to them :(

I'm the opposite of you guys. I should start an "Ever kill someone or feel responsible" thread heh :(

Helped a girl (g/f at the time) with suicidal depression. Somehow talked her out of going all the way with it.

I think that you WASTE 11 minutes of your life by taking the time to smoke. I do not think it cuts your life span down by 11 minutes.............

I was shelving book in the library that I work at today.

this guy came by and ask for the direction to the bathroom. he came back and looked for me.

when he saw me, he gave me $5 tip for saving him.

what a coincident, this just happened today.

9-11 :

Not sure if I saved anyone but, i kept my cool when the towers collapsed and as the smoke and soot was gaining on us, I pulled my GF and my friend's GF away. However my dumbass drag them towards Battery Park, where it's basically a dead end. Later we ran and found some buses that were leaving the area.

some intense moments.

Not sure if I saved his life, but I had a friend have a Works bomb blow up in his face. Me and another kid carried him (while running) back to his house, rinsed his face and eyes out for ~20 mins til his mom brought him to the emeregency room. I was the only one sensible during this, so I may have helped save some of his vision.

plucked a little kid out of a pool. there were lifeguards, but also lots of people around so no one really noticed. the kid had just wandered away from his parents out to where it was too deep and he was flailing all about. the lifeguards eventually made it there but i saved the day :)

good man!

the fact remains that you actually did something instead of freezing/panicking.
