Ever notice this about Dish network?

I just got my 301 system today, hooked it up andwas fiddling with all of the option's. it say's that you have to have an active phone line hooked up to order pay perview
movies. I just messed around with the option's and ordered a movie. It started showing without being hooked up to a phone line.

You can still order a limited number of movies(15-20 i think), but they won't show up on your bill. This sounds like a good thing until you can't get anymore ppv's and so you plug the phone line in and it charges you for all of those movies on one month's bill.:Q

Eventually you will reach a limit where the box won't let you order any more until you connect the phone line. Then it uploads all those movies (pr0n right?) you ordered and you get a nice hefty bill in the mail.

Ahhh, thank's for the head's up. Yeah, that would suck to be naive about this then get hit with 3.99 x 20.

What if you max out the box, then "accidently" drop it and have to get it replaced? Do they still d/l the data? Or would you get all those movies for free and then get a new box?

If you never plug it in you won't be charged, but you'll only be able to get a limited number of PPV's.

Then you would "accidentally" get a rather large bill for the box!

BeCareful about cable.... they might charge you a grip. I think they are able to determine what channels you are watching and for how long. Etc.

This is the dish network though... one way satellite communication. There is no way for your sat. box to send back the info without the phone line.

Actually you can buy the box, but most of the deals in the past year with DishNetwork have been where you are leasing the equipment. So, either way, you're out some cash for a box.

They should figure out a way to erase the movies you ordered so you can start over all the time.

Damn Digital Cable, you can't do that because it's 2-way...
