Ever had/been a secret admirer?

I was just digging through some old crap I had in my closet and came across this letter I received around Valentine's Day 1998. It was a letter from a "Secret Admirer". At the time I got it I had just started going out with my ex and had called her to say "ha nice joke about the letter" only to find out that she had nothing to do with it. I never did find out who wrote it. It was mailed to me and was typed up in Word it seems. Why do people write these things if they have no plans of actually unmasking themselves?

She doesn't. It was me. 😱

Hahaha that brings to mind one of the biggest problems with secret admirer letters....you never know if your buddies are playing a prank on ya.

Post something like that again, and you're gone.

Mods don't like Latin words! Podex perfectus es. Pro stercorem cerebro habes.

You know one Latin word. Learn some more, smartie.

yeah, from that dumb SECRET ADMIRERS web site that makes you sit there and try to guess who it is, and spams everyone. SO dumb.

I've had some secret admirers in the past, which I admit, is a flattering feeling to have.

I've also been one during my Gr. 9 and 10 years when I sent a rose off to her (highschool ...) but didn't have the guts to include my name on it.

So to answer your question GL, it takes a LOT to make the first move on someone, so much that I think sometimes we tend to back down on sending our name with something because we're too afraid to take that big a first step.

On another note, haha, it's not as if we don't have "secret admirers" and "crushes" these days, maybe it's just that it's a more "serious" thing as you grow older. I don't know, you can agree or disagree with me on this one, but I think they're both undying staples of love life.
