take martial arts or some sort of self-defense class. try not to play with knives or guns. and i'd be careful if you are the only white in a black neighborhood...

UFC is crap. This is what he needs.. I suggest he check the dojo listings, for one in his area.

You didn't get beat up, you just got punched a couple of times. If all that happened to you was a lump on your head the dude really didn't hurt you at all. Take solace in that and realize that if that's the best he can do when you aren't fighting back then you shouldn't be afraid to whoop his ass the next time he tries it.

good point.

btw, most black guys are cut looking, but that doesn't mean they are all strong.

he caught you by surprise. most people who get into fights for the first time just don't react in time.

what happened to you could have happened to anybody. you were caught by surprise without any notion that you were in danger. under different circumstances you might have done some damage too. it's not much different than some guy attacking someone from the back. PRESS charges. that kind of behavior deserves repurcussions. i don't see any need to learn martial arts or anything like that. I think the anger you feel from this incident will make you much more aware in the future and poised to defend yourself more quickly.

Yeah, getting strong really helped me out last night... 🙂
This guy was taller than me, black and was cut... he definately scared me.

How could you tell he was circumcised? I woudn't do that to my manchild.

sue her, take her money, and LAUGH in her face. her blood will boil.

No, I live in a "black" neighborhood and we are the only white guys around. They were black... but I didn't want to bring that up and make me sound like a racist.

Who gives a crap if they're black.
You got sucker punched 3 times and now you're his bitch.

Edro is in good shape. I bet if he stood up to the Motherfscker and exchanged blows he would do better than he expected and the idiot would think twice about throwing down on him.

So if I did decide to press charges (I doubt I will)... wouldn't I need a police report? And since I didn't have the cop make a report, I wouldn't have a case would I?

What if he had came out with a knife? That's not that point. The point is that I buckled under the pressure, because that is the only fight I have ever been in. At least I kind of know what to expect next time

Wow how did you make it into adulthood having never been in a fight. I used to fight all the time in my teens, had a few fights in my 20s and Zero fights in my 30s Im 37.

That being said Im the type of person who will hand out the first punch If I think its going to end up as a fight. I am happy to say that I have grown out of the "let my temper get the best of me" stage of my life.

I feel very bad that you "buckled" under the pressure, I would hate to have to live with that. I would much rather get a big time A$$ kicking then to have just buckled.

Just call the cops and tell them your neighbor assaulted you. Or knock on his door and ask him to fight. Or get your assortment of guns (yes I remember your shoot the sh!t out of the Civic thread) and ask him whose a "balla" now.

btw, taking some sort of martial arts class might not be a bad idea. not with the intentions of busting out some windmill-flying-kick to the next punk to starts up with you....but at least you have experience in a fight situation. you won't freeze up next time and be able to defend yourself. most pussies who run in for cheap shots will back off after a good shot in the ribs 🙂

Well I wasnt actually an adult back then but being beaten up by a strager hurts your pride as much.

So we were playing this game called cricket 😛 on a ground near my house. As we were playing this 40 year old "coach" with 7-10 of his thugs demanded us to move off the pitch. We requested that we finish our game. (20 mins left) He then picked up our stumps (base) and threw it as far as he could. We still dint move. Problem was most of us (except two) were pretty small back then 😛 ...He started yelling at us; throwing our stuff away. We retalliated by doing the same. Hid his stuff 😉 ...He ran after a freing with a hammer that "Ill break your head" and threw a stump (made of wood, this one had a heavy metal base) ...he missed. His thuga tried to do the same. I was the leader of the pack in throwing remarks and was also the smallest (built) of the lot. Seemed I got too close to him; he grabbed my by his collar swung me a couple of times and threw me hard after people got there to save me. Damn that really hurt my pride. Now ive stopped arguing too freely with people bigger than me 😉

I can't help picturing this big fat woman whistling and this enraged gimp with a chain and collar comes running out of the house looking to beat you up.

Hey Edro

When I get back to Cleveland I will take a drive to CO and we can both kick his ass.

Ill hold him down while you punch the sh@t out of him.

Cheers,
Darkstar

UFC isn't crap dude.

UFC/Boxing/Thai boxing/ kick boxing are all very easy to pick up and deal out punishment quickly for a 'beginner'. Other MA takes longer like Aikido to do affecitvely. Yes they are affective but not for a beginner. It would take many years to catch a guy right or be 'fast' enough to do your things. Granted you can and will catch them but for a beginner for self defence other options are better imo. If your good at Aikido and fast you can deal a lot of punishment. But it isn't for a beginner as the things you will need to learn have to be done fast to be as affective.

As for the incident he caught you by suprise. It CAN happen to anyone. If a guy comes from behind you are just SCREWED. You have no eyes behind you so you just can't tell. Anyway a few tips for 'confrontations'.

-Don't stand square on. Stand a bit sidewads on. More of a balance base and harder to hit.
-don't stand with your arms in your pockets. Have them out.

People who carry weapons are dumb. If you'd have pulled that knife you'd be in jail right now. Try to control yourself better, or take a karate class, or press charges. But dont pull a weapon on someone. use your head...

People who carry weapons LIKE ME are just following the law and exercising the right to keep and bear arms, and I can assure you I am not dumb. People like ME who carry guns and weapons legally do not act irrational and pull it over just a simple fist fight. Now if the guy had a weapon running at me like that, sure he would be on the 6:00 news and getting examined by the coroner. But you are entitled to your views, no matter what they are. You can choose to be a victim if you want. How do you see that it makes someone dumb because they carry a gun?

So last night I got into an argument with a neighbor. She was very irrate, and I wasn't helping the situation by running my mouth. She then screams for her son to "Kick his ass!"

Next thing I know, this guy come running out of the house, like mach 3,tears his shirt off and punches me in the back of the head (as I am ducking down). After I am on one knee, he hits me 2 more times in the back of the head.

I get up and yell some more stuff at them, and we shout for a few seconds and we all go back inside our apartments.

I didn't really have a chance to do anything because it happened so fast. I know that I held my hands up and said "Calm down man...", then he hit me.

It is kind of funny thinking about it, but it kind of makes me feel helpless. I almost always carry a large knife on my pants pocket, for safety reasons, but I was wearing gym shorts last night. Who knows what would have happened if I had my knife. I prolly would have pulled it out, which prolly would not have ended well... and I would prolly be in jail, or shot or something.

Man... this is why I try to avoid confrontations. I guess some people don't know where to draw the line between an argument and fists.

Anyways... anyone else ever had their pride hurt like that?

Cliff Notes:
I ran my mouth.
Some kid punched me in the head a few times.
My pride is hurt. 🙂

Whoa whoa whoa... hold on a second... what did you say to this woman that prompted her to get her son to attack you?...

Don't feel bad... anyone is capable of getting their ass kicked no matter how big... I'm 6'5" 300lbs and built like an NFL lineman... and I got my ass kicked once... (by 4 guys...) but it was still humiliating, lying there on the ground getting kicked in the head.

The main thing that made her fly off the rail was this:
Her: "Yeah, it's the 2 White Males! The White males!"
Me: "Why are we all of the sudden the "White Males?" Why can't we just be "Your Neighbors"?
Her: "Because you are the "White Males!"
Me: "Ok, then you are the "Black Female."
Her: "KICK HIS ASS!"

I know I know... I shouldn't have said it... but she was obviously being racist towards us. I was just trying to prove a point.

That's so rediculous. What prompted her to say the white males? And where was #2 and why didn't he have your back? 🙂

Crazy ass woman.

Get a report on her and her son's ass man. They deserve it.

haha... he was watching from the other side of the yard. He came over, but it was all over before he could do anything. Neither one of us are aggressive people. He was just as stunned as I was.
