I'm bored and wanna go see X-Men, but all of my friends are working/occupied. Should I go by myself?

Going by yourself is depressing. I went to a nice resturant by myself the other day, and people were giving me strange looks.
 
Nothing wrong. Gone for movies/dinner myself lots of times (back during undergrad days), since I like finishing up work early and taking off Sunday night (instead of partying on Friday and cramming on Sunday). 😛
 
I went to see Schindler's List by myself becuase I could not find anyone who would go see it with me. I was not going to miss it because I could not find anyone with a strong stomach.
 
Yeah, going to movies by yourself is just weird and depressing. I've gone to dinners by myself, it felt so depressing to be there sitting alone eating.

I eat fast food/chilli by myself. Save the cash for taking the gf out to dinner.
 
Been a long time since I have gone to a movie by myself, I could give a rats ass what others think. If you want to do it, do it! You are there for the movie, right, nothing else.
 
Did it on opening night after a fight with the wife.

Threw on some sweats & went to see "The Matrix" on opening night!!

Squeezed myself in between two women (I was pissed at women at that particular moment anyway, so I didn't give a rats arse) and went on to enjoy one of the best (if not *the* best) movie going experiences of my life!!

Became a Matrix addict after that & the wife & I made up the next day.


Now that was when I was pissed & didn't give a sh*t! If I were feeling normal, I'd probably feel similar to you, but I say go for it anyway. Grab yourself some popcorn & a soda & enjoy!!!!!!! :thumbsup:
 
All the time, "needing" someone else there shows a sign of dependancy and weakness. Now if you want them there, that is different. 🙂
 
For me, DVD Experience > Theater Experience. So the only reason I ever go to a movie is as a social event with friends.
 
meh, i dont care - if i wanna see a movie i'll see it. with friends sure, if not - that's fine too. frankly, why'd u care about what others think?
 
Went to see the third Matrix film on release.
Was supposed to be going with my dad, but his tyre blew so he had to get that fixed instead of seeing the film.
 
I watched Road Trip by myself a while ago because I was single and my bro wasn't old enough to tag along. I rarely go to the movies in theater anyway, HBO On Demand is where I usually watch most movies.
 
I go by myself allthe time. I'm off M-th so nobody is hardly ever there. Of course this means no cute guys though 🙁
 
My boss does this a lot actually. I told him it was weird, but he said it's his way of escaping. I guess everyone needs that. As for guys eating in resteraunts by themselves (I'm talking decent places, not BK), I always feel pity for those guys. Just take it to go and eat at home where no one has to watch your depressed looking ass.
 
I have on occasion, even though I really don't like it. This weekend the girlfriend is out of town, so I will probably go see X-Men by myself (that's not her sort of movie, so it really works out in the end).

😕 You go to a movie to see the movie. You don't talk to or really interact with the people you're with during the movie. So how is it pointless? 😕

I've gone to movies by myself a couple of times.
