I saw Return Of The King alone actually - I didn't want a distraction. Turns out the girl sitting beside me decides to chat me up :(

I prefer watching movies alone. People are too damn annoying to be around when you're trying to watch one.

ya, sometimes. it's not bad. Me and my friends have conflicting schedules, so ya, after each of us sees it, we just discuss it.

HOWEVER, comedy is different. we always must find time w/ each other for comedy movies.

If you NEED someone with you in order to watch a movie then chances are you're not very interested in the movie in the first place. I go to the theater to watch a movie. I don't care who's sitting next to me as long as they don't screw up the experience, thus I don't really care whether I'm with someone or not.

Yes. If I want to see a movie and can't find anyone to go with me, I have no problem with going by myself.

Most people who really enjoy watching movies in theaters go alone all the time. I prefer it myself.

Haven't been to a theater in years thanks to rip off prices, but I have been to concerts alone recently. I'd prefer going alone, other people like to not shut up and discuss the movie/concert while it's going on.

I may have gone alone about twice in my life.

I remember one was a horror flick and I couldn't convince gf to watch it with me (her excuse: will give her nightmares).
Called some friends and half of them already saw it and some were out of town during that weekend.
Didn't stop me from not watching it by myself.

Odd part was that the movie ended and had an "eye connection" with a girl who was watching the movie by herself, alone.
Did the "eye connection" again at the parking lot, smiled and not saying a word, and parted ways to our respective cars.

Sure all the time.

Whenever my wife and kids are away, it's a ritual to see a couple of movies. the only time I get to see what I want :)

If you have a problem with going to see a movie by yourself, then you have some serious self-esteem and co-dependency problems.
