Ever get pissed when you're turned down for no legit reason?

In the UK we apply to 6 Uni's, and my friend and I applied to 5 the same, and one different.
We applied for the same area (I went for the Classical Past IIRC, her Classics), and we both got replies on the same day, and both were rejections.

Apparently, a couple of years ago, EVERYONE in our school who applied to that Uni got turned down. It's total BS and really pisses me off.

I didn't really want to go there, I have 4 Uni's higher in my preferences, and I have a fairly easy offer from one, but it's still stupid that we were probably both rejected just because of our school.
It's one of the top schools in the country, and it's not private, but I think people assume it is (due to the name), so often because of government BS, they just reject people because they need intake from state schools (even though it is one....).

(And I'm predicted pretty good grades, enough to meet probably any offer they would have given).

Goddamn retards.

Bristol Uni.
(Also applied to Nottingham, Warwick, Leicester, Oxford and Durham, offer from Leicester, nothing from anyone else).
They may have conferred and realised I didn't really want to go to Bristol.

Well Bristol has the highest student population % in the UK.

It's the best Uni for Languages, History & Classics.

The Bristol Uni administration (BCC) team is trying to accept applicants from a very wide selection of ethnic origins/beliefs and especially those where English is not the Mother tongue.

This is due to Bristol loosing the bid to become the European city of Culture.

Of course this is just "on the grape vine" or "hush-hush" information.

Are you going to take Leicester, or go into clearing? I got into Essex that way, thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
